ITU MIAM Spatial Sound Laboratory is the first 3D music production studio and test laboratory established within Istanbul Technical University. It was established to support students in 3D sound courses and to assist them in preparing the auditory narrative design of 3D music productions. It supports various multi-channel speaker formats such as 10.1, 5.1.4, 7.1.4, and others.
The spatial sound laboratory is designed to support Auro 3D, Dolby Atmos, and various other 3D audio formats. The design and manufacturing of the carrier system were done with the support of Istanbul Technical University Scientific Research Projects Office by HayalBilim Architecture and Design Office and Ahmet Sertaç Öztürk. The acoustic design was carried out by ITU Instructor Murat Tıraş, and the acoustic panels were manufactured by students of the Turkish Music State Conservatory.
