He completed his masters dergee at Istanbul Technical University, Dr. Erol Üçer Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MİAM), Sound Engineering & Design program and his Ph.D. at Istanbul Technical University, Turkish Music State Conservatory, Musicology and Music Theory department. Since 1996, he has worked as a guitarist and vocalist in many rock bands. Since 2004, he has been involved in many albums, films and documentaries as a recording, mixing and mastering engineer, producer, composer and musician. The sound design and installation for 3D called ‘Soundscape’ was exhibited in 2012 at the 1. Istanbul Design Biennial. He became an Associate Professor in 2013. Based on the proofs and findings in his doctoral dissertation, he chose ‘cultural differences in the cognition of timbre’ as a research area. He completed his post-doc research in Canada, supported by TÜBİTAK and ITU BAP, titled as ‘Cultural timbre cognition in different cultures and aesthetic bonds’, which started in 2017 and continued for one year at the University of Calgary. He is currently a faculty member at the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory, Music Technology Department.
